cyclo-oxygenase:

I love this, so much. This poem sounds like its purely physical, but it truly isn’t. After my original post I kept re-reading it.
Knowing somebody’s scars means knowing their stories and their past. Scars are  a physical embodiment of what has hurt them in the past and what lessons they have learned for wielding such pain. Memorizing the shape of someone’s tongue is being familiar with the way someone speaks and their tone of voice.
The curve of the lower back (an underrated body part, in my opinion) created by the spine is where one has nerves needed for movement and other sensations. Counting the ribs which protects the heart is discovering how individuals protect their heart and their feelings. Counting fingers to understand how one works and handles the world. Goose bumps to see what causes them thrill or excitement—the unique joys of life that strikes a chord and resonates.
I want you, entire. No parts left out. It’s no longer about the writer’s desire, but about the individual they want to know and them as a whole.
